How do you make your jewelry?

Each of the pieces containing Copper or Silver are made during electroforming; an incredible process in which pure copper is sealed electromagnetically via positive and negative currents to crystals, bones, or any other organic material, while keeping all original quality of the stones intact. A single piece of jewelry can take anywhere from 2 days to a week or more to complete depending on the preparation (building the piece), size and intricacy, and at least 4-20 hours for actual electroforming time where the piece is sealed to copper. Once electroformed the copper is hand oxidized to a warm antique finish and then hand polished to allow some of the original shine to peek through. The last and final step of the process is to coat the copper with several layers of clear sealant to prevent oxidation and dullness. These are truly unique pieces that were made using lots of time, love, and care so that they are ready to share all the love and goodness that is overflowing within them onto whomever wears it!

Over time copper absorbs oxygen along with oils from the skin causing a darkening of the copper. I personally prefer this look and love to let my copper run it’s natural course (the oils from your hands will also polish the copper up very nicely over time) but if you prefer to maintain the original shine, polishing copper jewelry is simple and easy with an acidic cleaner like lemons. Lemon and ketchup are both excellent for cleaning copper jewelry.
The easiest way to polish copper is to simply use a copper polisher and cloth.

For a chemical-free solution cut a lemon in half or use a slice of lemon as opposed to soaking your jewelry in lemon juice. Pour a bit of salt on the exposed lemon and rub on the copper. Your jewelry should regain it’s shine and look good as new! WIth this method though it may become dull much quicker than using an actial copper polish.

You can also prevent tarnishing by wiping your jewelry off with a clean cloth after every wear.

*Please note that if your piece was made with a darkening patina it is not meant to be repolished and this could possibly alter the overall look of your piece.

I will repolish and seal, or repatina and seal any piece for a charge of $15. You will be responsible for all costs of shipping the piece to me and back to you.

I just loved that shiny bright look my jewels had when they first arrived...Is there way to polish the metal back to looking new?

Due to the natural chemistry of our bodies and the absorption of oils after being worn, copper can cause some discoloration or slight greenness of the skin. This is a completely natural reaction and is absolutely harm-free. I coat all of my jewelry in a sealant to prevent this as long as possible, but it is not a permanent solution. Green coloring on the skin comes off after a few hours on it’s own or can be washed off with soap and water. By taking off jewelry for showers, swimming, or washing hands will decrease the chances of wearing away the sealant, and will also prevent oxidation. You can also apply a bit of warm candle wax on the inside of the ring band where it comes in contact with the skin to prevent discoloration.

How will wearing Copper affect my skin?

Getting your jewelry wet or submerging your jewelry in water will change and alter the overall appearance of your any copper or silver piece.

We highly recommend wiping your jewelry with a clean cloth before and after every wear in order to prevent oxidation or tarnishing.

Can I get my jewelry wet?

Oh no! We consider repairs on a case-by-case basis as long as they have been purchased within the last year.

Our jewelry can contain fragile elements and we always recomend that it be handled carefully and with mature care. We do not recommend wearing our jewelry during highly active and physical activities.

Please send us an email at info@chelseaden.com to inquire

Yikes, my piece of jewelry broke, can I get a repair?

Yes! Thank you for asking and for wanting to cleanse those crystals!

Crystals are incredible healers and cleansers of their surrounding areas by absorbing negative and toxic energies and transmuting them into positive goodness! By wearing your crystal jewelry you carry around your very own energetic cleanser everywhere you go! In order to keep your crystals working at their optimal levels they need to be cleansed of the energies absorbed. There are many ways to do this and we've listed a few below.

All of our jewelry containing any crystal elements are recharged under each full moon every month in order to cleanse the crystals with healing, fresh, and vibrant energy. You can do this at home by simply placing your piece of jewelry under the full moon (or the night before the full moon) and let it soak up all those magical moonbeams! You can also hold your crystal in one hand and picture a bright white beam of light shining through the center of your crystal cleansing it. Another great way to cleanse them is to burn either sage or palo santo and smudge your crystals and their surrounding area.

We love sharing crystal knowledge and goodness with our customers and only wish to add positive, healing, and high roaming vibrations through our jewelry.
